St Peter’s Church, Field Broughton – Stuart Harling
The rural hamlet of Field Broughton lies 2 miles north of Cartmel. It is notable for it’s the ancient Pound on White Moss Common and for the 19th Century Austin and Paley designed St Peter’s Church. The hamlet itself lies on slightly higher ground to the south east of the church. It once consisted of a number of working farms centred around a crossing of valley tracks and has since then developed organically into an unplanned collection of attractive buildings.
